My "Bihon" Tripping

It seems like a lot of my fellow Pinay love to eat "bihon". Well, during my three-day off I finally cooked the "bihon" that I always long to eat. I was surprised that my hubby asked me to prepare some for him because he is going to eat. He said it looks yummy so he just want to try it and he loves it. In the last months, I persuaded him to try the"bihon" that I cooked but he always said NO because he didn't like the sardines that I added in the bihon. This time I am using shrimp and chicken instead of sardines and that's why he loves it.

Here is the picture of the "bihon" that I cooked last Saturday. Oh, I still have some left, just let me know who wants to try it. LOL...

Just Having a Good Time

There is nothing wonderful than taking some time off from work after a busy and tiresome week. Yes, I am now on the second day of my three-day off from work and I am still having great time with my short vacation. I just appreciate now the time where I only stayed at home the whole day for about 7 months prior to working. I just enjoyed my time watching tv, movies or blogging which I was very lazy in doing in the last two weeks when I started working already. Today, I will also go to the Asian store which is 5-6mins. away from us to buy "bihon" so I can cook it tonight. Supposed to be my initial plan is to go there yesterday but since I wasn't able to finish early in cooking food for our dinner that's why I decided to do it today. I am so excited to eat "bihon". It is one of my favorite Filipino foods, I can eat it everyday. hehehe

Finally, I am done with my whole tiresome week shift at work. Tomorrow will be my off so I have all the time to do whatever I want to do. Yahoo! Oh, well, we need to do our final Christmas shopping rush before my husband family's exchange of gifts during Christmas.

I had a pretty long weekend but I am very happy because finally I got my first job here in the US. In the first two days I feel like I want to give up the job and just stay at home. I really became lazy. Well, who will not be when I also tried staying at home for seven months. Well, I need to go to bed now because I am still tired and I need to rest my body. I am just checking out here in my blog before I will go to sleep.

Hitman

I would say, hubby and I are really movie addicts. If our favorite movie is out in the theater, we really find ways to watch it no matter how busy my husband's schedule is. Sometimes we go to the theater at around 10:00PM if that is the only available time for us. We don't really care how late we will go out and watch a movie.

Just last Thursday, hubby and I hit the theater and watched the movie "Hitman". From the title itself, expect that it is an action/suspense movie. It is more of a male inclined movie but since I got here those movies are already in my system because my husband is well-rounded with movies and I need to be one as well. He watched comedy, family, horror, love story inspired movies with me and there's no reason I would not watch suspense/action movies with him. Well, the story line is what always matters to me.

Hitman is the story of a man who is trained and hired as a professional hitman/assassin. In the movie, he was hired by the CIA to get rid of the leader of a notorious organization who happened to be the President of Russia. Actually, this movie is an adaptation of the video game series of the same name. It is a good movie and as always hubby wants to get a DVD copy of it when it's out in the market already.

Bitter-Sweet Love Story

A 71-year-old woman in Texas is now facing a criminal case after she shot her son-in-law at the back of his head. She invited her son-in-law to her house for a dinner and when she gave him a piece of cake she shot him right away. Her son-in-law managed to get out of her property and called 911. When police responded, they found her with a self-inflicted gunshot but she and her son-in-law survived from the wounds.

A couple of days after the incident happened, report says the reason she shot her son-in-law is because he is mean to his grandkids. However, the police department was able to get evidence that she tried to get rid of her son-in-law so her daughter can pursue her elicit affair with a man she met online. Right now the wife of the man is already under further investigation after she failed in the lie detector test.

This is indeed very sad ending of a once happy marriage.

Better Luck Next Time

Today, I wasn't lucky enough to grab the $50 and $65 opportunities at PPP. The $65 was fully reserved already when I woke up and I wasn't able to reserve the $50 because my PPP website download so slow. I was so sad because when I submitted my reservation it already says all posts are taken already. I shouted when I read it because I just missed the big paying opportunity. Anyway, I thought it was only me who is suffering a slow download with PPP site but some friends also experienced it. Cowboys Ruled NFC East

Dallas Cowboys clinched the Champion of the NFC East after winning the game over Detroit Lions. This is the first time it happened after almost a decade. The last NFC East Championship title that they had was in 1998. The team and their fans are still in awe right now with the fact that Cowboys is now finally back in the lead after being silent for so many years. Even if Cowboys only had a 1 point win in last Sunday's game but still it's considered as a big win by the team and the fans. To start with, I had a long day today. I got two job interviews: one in the hotel, the other is in another company. Goosh! I really don't know when will this job hunting of mine end. Busy Saturday

Today, is a little bit busy day. We weren't in the house the whole afternoon because we went to my friends house just around 20 minutes away from us. From there we go straight directly to my sister-in-law's house to meet with the other family members and we got home at around 12:00AM. Well, it's the reason why I was only able to make one post in my Sweet Lullaby blog. Well, a little bit slow with the opportunities today maybe because it is weekend. There are some but they are reserved already everytime I will visit the site. Hopefully, there'll be more tomorrow.

A Bloody and Deadly Shopping Day

The very disturbing and horrible 911 call with only gunshoots can be heard are now released in the media. That 911 call is just one of the more than 450 911 calls made by the people inside the Von Maur mall and their relatives. For the shoppers, it was a supposed to be an early Christmas shopping which they never thought would turned out into a bloody and deadly massacre.

Before, the gunman shoot himself and died on the scene, there were already a number of mall employees and shoppers who died and were left wounded. Including the gunman, 19-year-old Robert Hawkins, there were nine people who died in that tragic event. The whole Westroad Mall was closed on that day but the other malls open the following day except the Von Mar mall which remains closed until today.

The family whom Hawkins lived with can never imagine that he will end his life and the lives of other people in Omaha in that way. Hawkins lives in a chaotic life and his decision was believed to be trigger more because he lost his job at Mcdonalds recently and he just broke up with his girlfriend. Well, all of these are just speculations because the only man who can answer all the questions in the mind of the people is dead together with his victims.

The people of Omaha, NE had made a couple of vigils and mass offered to the victims and their bereaved families. The governor also ordered that flags should only be raised half-way until Sunday in commemoration of the lives lost in the Von Maur mall massacre.

My Thoughts on Christmas

Christmas is already fast approaching! The falling leaves, cold weather, Christmas songs played in the malls, stores and at the restaurants and the Christmas movies out in the theaters are some of the evidence that it won't be long 'til Christmas day. Well, this is my first Christmas to be away from my family back in the Philippines. Sometimes, I feel lonely thinking about it but I am also very grateful for having a new and wonderful family here in the US. Well, my only wish is that I hope everyone in my family back home and here in the US will be happy and will have more blissful life in the year to come.

Oh, are you done with your holiday shopping? For us, we haven't started it yet but I am already looking around the net just to have an idea on what to pick when we are in the stores or malls already. We are planning to have our holiday shopping rush next week.

Our Hop to Oklahoma!

A week ago we made a trip to our nearby state, Oklahoma. As always, I love to see the views on the way there including the rocky mountains, as what I called it. On your way there, you will be able to see a couple of farms and ranches with either cattles or horses in it. You will also be able to see the famous Winstar Casino in Oklahoma. On our way home at night, we saw a one-mile Christmas lights decorations mounted along the road and the lights formed Christmas trees, Santa Claus sleigh, and other Christmas icons. Well, it was sad though because hubby was driving faster so I wasn't able to take some pictures. My fault because I forgot to set the camera to a fast capture mode.
